The application form plays a key part in our decision whether or not to invite you
for interview, so it is important that you complete it as fully and as accurately

you should bear in mind that it is for you, the candidate, to demonstrate your suitability
for a post in completing your application form.
A competency framework has been developed to ensure that staff understand the performance
and behaviours, attitudes and skills needed for their role. The person specification
for any post you apply for should include relevant competencies for the role alongside
other needs including professional and technical competencies. The shortlistling
panel will decide who to interview on the basis of the information provided in the
application measured against the person specification/competencies. The competency
framework is available here.
The person specification lists qualities such as experience and qualifications etc
which are ‘essential’ in order to do the job and those which are ‘desirable’
ie those which will help somebody to perform the complete range of tasks in the
job more readily. It is important therefore, that you complete the application form
