Welcome to the recruitment website for Bath and North East Somerset Council, the on-line recruitment service is aimed at anyone who wants fast, easy access to information on current vacancies within the council as well as many of our local schools.

We hope you will find it easy to use and will save you time when applying for a vacancy.  Using the search facility we hope you can find the job that's just right for you. Searches can be filtered by keyword, closing date, salary range, workplace, contract type or working hours.  Most adverts for council posts and school vacancies carry a link to a detailed job description and person specification, as well as our online application form.

Registration

Before you can apply online for a vacancy you need to create an account on the system by setting up a username and providing your email address.  An e-mail welcome message will then be sent to you with further instructions.  All you need to do then is follow the link in the email to set a password and setup any job alerts that may be of interest to you.   Passwords must contain at least one capital letter and one number with a minimum of six digits in all. Once you have created a password you are ready to use the system.

Applying Online

Having logged in you can complete the application form a section at a time – the sections are expanded by clicking the blue headings.  An application can be saved at any point and returned to later to complete as long as the job has not reached the closing date and time.  You will receive an email reminder to complete your application form before the closing date.

Once you have completed your application form you can click on “Application Review” button at the bottom of the form, this will then take you to the next stage. This stage will show you how your completed application form will look.   Take some time to have a look at the information you have provided and check for any errors.  You can then go back to the form and amend where necessary. 

When you are happy with your application form you can ‘Submit’ your application this will then be sent directly to our Recruitment Team.  An acknowledgement email will be sent to you advising that your application form has been received.

Applicant Area - Help with Issues

Once you have registered you can sign up to receive details by e-mail on new job vacancies you are interested in. Registering also allows you to Bookmark Jobs you maybe interested in as well as giving you access to your saved applications.

Please remember

All vacancies close for application at 5.00pm unless otherwise specified within the advertisement. Therefore the on line application facility will not be available after 5.00pm on the closing date.

Due to the large number of applications we receive, we regret we are unable to inform applicants who have not been shortlisted of the outcome of their application. Therefore, if you have not heard from us within three weeks of the closing date, please assume that you have not been selected for interview on this occasion.
