We are looking for a Shift Leader to be based in one of our Extra Care Services in The Orchard on a part time basis.
The role is for 24.5 hours per week and involves a rota system which includes early (starting at 7.30am) and late shifts (ending at 10.15pm) and working every other weekend with some bank holidays for which enhancements are paid.
The role, as part of the management team, ensures the provision of holistic person-centred care and practical support as determined by the assessed needs of tenants, to enable individuals to live as independently as possible with dignity and choice.
We promote and maintain a supportive living environment to meet the needs of vulnerable older adults including those with dementia.
The Orchard site offers a vibrant community atmosphere, a lovely garden which goes down the back of the Orchard, with a summer house, and seating located in Combe Down, Bath which is easily accessible via public transport or car.
Duties:
- Assist in managing and supporting the team in the performance of their day to day duties, including the allocation of work rota’s, undertaking one to one and group supervision and support, developing skills and awareness and identifying training needs
- Assist the Extra Care Manager and the care team in the preparation, implementation and review of individual care plans, care records and risk assessments, attending reviews, and being involved in tenants’ assessments
- Monitor the general health and well-being of tenants ensuring early intervention where necessary to avoid hospital admission
- Ensure the proper control, recording and issuing of medications as prescribed by a medical practitioner
This is a challenging but rewarding role. Previous experience of working in care and a commitment to deliver quality care is essential.
